The cache is located near the General Baptist Memorial Church, a denomination of the Baptist religion. According to the literature on the churches, its pastor, prior to World War II and after, was the Rev. Joaquin Flores Sablan, the first ordained Chamorro Protestant minister. Rev. Sablan was the only Protestant minister on Guam during the Japanese occupation. When the Japanese took Guam, the Church was taken and the first floor converted into a storehouse for food for the Japanese soldiers, while the second floor became a Shinto Shrine. Based on a plaque, the original General Baptist Church was destroyed during the war. The General Baptist Memorial Church that stands near by was rebuilt in 1955, though the exact location of the original church is not indicated.
