Bushrangers Bay and Elephant Rock
The beautiful Bushrangers Bay comprises of a sandy beach surrounded by basalt cliffs. This serene location is contrasted by dark and brooding headlands and wild waves that often crash onto jagged rocks guarding the entrance to the bay. Elephant Rock is a large basalt "island", separated from the beach at high tide at the west end of Bushrangers Bay. It is accessible during low tide.
2 parking options are suggested, both over 2.5 km away and on our last visit, both required a wet, but shallow, creek crossing.
The event will be hosted on top of Elephant Rock at this time with low tide expected just before 1pm, which should allow full access to the island. The log book to sign will be in the ammo can up on top.
If you are worried about the heights, the climb and/or the tides, please come along to the beach as support crew, cheer squad and/or photographer. Good chance that this is where 999Huntress will be.
Please note the Terrain Rating and the Attributes.
Please note:- There have been deaths reported here in recent years in the treacherous seas. Evaluate the conditions and your capability. There is no shame in playing it safe.
But saying that, we hope to see you all there at the beach at least.
