Dufourspitze is the highest peak of Monte Rosa at 15,203 feet. It is also on the Seven Second Summits lists for Western Europe given the controversy regarding the border between Asia and Europe. It is the only peak of Monte Rosa wholly in Switzerland and is the highest point of the country. To get to the peak, you first need to ascend to the Monte Rosa Hut and spend the night. There are nice accommodations here and will allow you to climatize to the higher elevation. From there, it is just a walk across the glacier and a scramble to the top. There is a geocache near the hut and by Gornergrat station. Unfortunately there isn't cache at Dufourspitze. But have no fear, there is a cache close by.
