Geocache Description:

This cache is one of several located along the roads that wend through the Lollie Bottoms area. Three of the 78 historical schools that once existed in Faulkner County were located along this stretch of road.

Additional information about the Lollie Bottoms area can be found here: https://faulknerhistory.org/2017/07/lollie-plantation-looking-back/

In 2001 a bridge over Tupelo Bayou was installed here. A railroad flat car was used as a prefab bridge, and it worked well until traffic loads increased to the point that it was no longer safe. Then in 2019 the old bridge was replaced with this new one. In announcing the bridge, Faulkner County Judge Jim Baker said, "This expansion will ultimately help provide a western bypass for Conway residents and better, safer travel for both those traveling to and from the Conway airport as well as easier travel conditions for the agricultural community that surrounds the Lollie area."

There were other bridges in the county constructed from railroad flat cars, and there were once caches (now archived) at two of them: "FC-RR Middle Road" (GC23PKN) and "FC-RR Muddy Bayou" (GC23G55). These were both placed by geocacher N6VC, now deceased, who worked for the county road department.

You are looking for a small container hidden in a traditional manner and in a very familiar location for such hides. It should be easy to find. Though you can pull off the roadway near GZ, traffic there is sometimes heavy, and there is danger. So be careful. And take a few moments to have a look at Tupelo Bayou as is slowly winds its way, generally to the southwest, to the Arkansas River.

Remember that this is Arkansas, and dangerous critters and plants of all sorts can be present at certain times of the year. So BE CAREFUL!

Put the container back just as you found it so it will be fun for others. And should you see any trash, take a moment to practice CITO.

If there are any problems with the cache, please let me know.
