Geocache Description:

Another JAPOC (Just A Plain Old Cache) hidden in a spot I found while placing some other caches. This spot cried out for a big cache, but I didn’t have a cache with suited for such a hiding place.

This where the story gets interesting. After redoing my Cool View Multi cache (Now it is “Still a Cool View” GC9NH20 Trad.) I wanted to sit down and have a drink before moving on. I spotted a rock to sit on and as I approached said rock, I saw a rather large camo taped plastic jar sitting next to it. Well, I opened it up and found a logbook in it (See pages in gallery). It seems that it was a cache placed by a cacher named mtnbay (who has not been active since 2013) on 4/29/11 to be named “A little Friday Walkabout” but was never publish I am guessing because it was too close to my final stage, and he never came back to pick it up. After that the cache had a life of its own without a listing. Five years later it was found by someone with a dog named Bodie. There were 5 or 6 more logged visits (See pages in gallery for details). Some people made exchanges of swag and I found a bud and a lighter (that I removed) in the cache.

I removed it as geotrash and I gave it a new logbook and some more swag and hid it here. As I said it is a big plastic jar on the large size of regular sized, so the hiding spot should be easy to spot. The cache is not covered with anything just tucked into its hiding spot and visible once you find the hiding spot.

Remember to be careful out here on the Olmstead Loop. In the Summer drink lots of water and use a stick or hiking stick to poke around so that the snakes let you know if they are there. Snakes frequently like to hide in the same places Geocachers like to hide caches. If there is a snake guarding any of my Geocaches you don't need to sign the log, but you owe me a good online log telling me why you didn't sign the log. Make it a good one.
