Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Are puzzles driving you crazy? Do you need a confidence booster, an easy win? Well, here’s something that may appeal to you… A series of EASY puzzles that do not require a special skill set or degree in computer science. A clear mind, positive attitude, and sense of humor are the only things you will need to have a little puzzle solving fun. Enjoy!

There are five different methods to solve this puzzle! One of them is bound to work for you.

Here’s the first method to solve. For those who rely on visual cues, the following pictures should lead you directly to the cache. First up, is an image from Google Earth that shows the posted coordinates and the cache location. (Hint: Note other visual clues, such as nearby road and trail names, to narrow your search area.)

Next up, let’s zoom is a little closer. Notice the circular ring of rocks? It’s Marin’s Stonehenge!

From ground level, looking in a northwesterly direction, here is another look at Marin’s Stonehenge and the cache location.

Finally, at ground zero and looking in a northerly directly, here is a close-up of the cache hiding spot.

With these picture clues, you should have all the information you need to locate the cache! Right?!

As for the second method to determine the final coordinates, answer the following quiz questions, A through F. The cache is located at:

N37 55.ABC
W122 38.DEF

A: What is the missing number (x) in this sequence: 0, 1, x, 3, 4, 5?

B: Pick any whole number between 7 and 9.

C: How many days in a week?

D: If nothing from nothing leaves nothing, how much is left?

E: A unicycle has how many wheels? (Hint: Bicycle riders subtract one from your answer. Tricycle riders subtract two from your answer.)

F: There are 12 months in a year. What number month is September? (If that’s too confusing for you because “Septem” means 7 in Latin, then how many letters are in the word “September?”)

Now, if either of these first two methods to solve this puzzle are too hard for you, this third method should be straightforward enough. Study and decipher the cryptic text below in the box to figure out the final coordinates and cache location.

If all else fails and you are someone who believes the lettered points of a compass stand for “Nowhere, Somewhere, Elsewhere, and Wherever,” then I offer two other methods to solve this puzzle. Just scroll down and look for the Additional Hints or Additional Waypoints. Hit the “Decrypt” link for the hint or hit the “Final Location” link for further guidance. Something is bound to work for you! If you are still uncertain, you can check your solution on the Certitude link below.

This puzzle is the fourth in a new series of EASY puzzles that I have placed on Mount Tamalpais. If you would like to solve and find some puzzle caches, and if you like easy to moderate hiking, then this series is for you! All of the puzzles in the series will be easy (1-star or 1.5-star), but the hides may bump up the difficulty ratings and the terrain ratings may vary some. All of the hides are micro or small, camouflage-taped pill bottles. This cache was inspired by Ol’Fogie’s “A Puzzle Cache for WASCALLEY WABBIT & Friends” (GC5N5NA).

Good luck, have fun, and as always, please return the cache as found or better!

Please note that West Ridgecrest Blvd. is open from 9:00 a.m. to sunset daily.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
