Geocache Description:

This virtual cache is placed at the John DuBois statue located above the Penn State DuBois campus.

At the waypoint provided is the final resting place of John DuBois.  John DuBois is who the city of DuBois was named after. John DuBois first came to Clearfield county in 1842.  He saw the potential for timber and started to buy large tracts of land. He then developed the land creating businesses which attracted people to the area and grew the population. There was once only the singular burial plot here as John DuBois has requested to be buried on the hill with his face toward the town.  This Hill (also called monument hill) once overlooked the DuBois mansion.

The monument you see today was rededicated on November 1 2018.

To claim this cache please email/message me the answers to the following questions.  Any spoiler logs will be deleted as well as any that do not complete the questions:

1. Count the number of concrete squares that surround the monument outside of the fence.  How many are there?

2. How many sets of birdhouses do you see by standing at the front of the monument on the sidewalk?

3. Post a picture with you or your group at the statue.  If you do not wish to provide your face please hold up a piece of paper with your geocaching name on it and take a picture with the statue in the background.
