Castlegar Sculpturewalk VR 3.0

Castlegar Sculpturewalk is an annual, rotating exhibition of outdoor sculptural art located in downtown Castlegar, BC, known as The Sculpture Capital of Canada™. 

Now in it's 12th year, Castlegar’s growing downtown is Sculpturewalk’s canvas: an incredible outdoor gallery which fosters and supports talented local artists and attracts artists from across the globe. 

​Each year, viewers vote for their favourite sculpture: the People’s Choice winner which is purchased by the City to be then added to it's permanent collection. 

All of the sculptures are available for sale or lease, and the region’s growing public art collection can be viewed in partner cities throughout the Kootenays and well beyond!

May - October: Ballots & maps are located in red ballot boxes along the route (the suggested start of the route is at the Kootenay Market (635 Columbia Avenue), though you can begin the walk from anywhere. Ballots, maps & brochures are also available at the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, or the Kootenay Gallery (reference waypoints provided on cache page) and also, available to print online. 

November - April: During the 'off season' the City of Castlegar's permanent collection sculptures can be viewed in front of the Castlegar City Hall.

The outdoor walking tour is self-guided, therefore it is open to viewers 24/7.

To Log this Cache:

The purpose of the required logging task is to show that the geocacher was at the location.

1) Post a photograph of yourself with your online log in front (or pointing at) any one of the sculptures. 

OR

2) Post a photograph of yourself with your online log in front (or pointing at) the Castlegar City Hall. 

As per geocaching guidelines, your face does not have to be in the photo. Photos of the sculptures are highly encouraged!
