Taskun saari on noin 410 m pitkä ja 240 m leveä. Taskun puinen päivämerenkulun tunnusmajakka (Pooki) rakennettiin vuonna 1853 pohjoisesta Raahen kaupunkiin johtavan väylän läheisyyteen. Tunnusmajakka on säilynyt lähes ennallaan alkuperäisellä paikallaan ja se on olennainen osa Suomen rakennusperintöä, varsinkin kun Kristiinankaupungin ja Tornion välisellä rannalla on jäljellä enää 13 puista 1700- ja 1800-luvuilla rakennettua päivämerenkulun tunnusmajakkaa.

- Korkeus merenpinnasta 19,2 metriä. Pooki oli aluksi väriltään keltainen. Vuonna 1866 pookia korjattiin, jolloin se tervattiin ja maalattiin punamullalla. Vuonna 1877 se maalattiin jälleen keltaiseksi. Nykyinen pookin väri on keltainen.
- Rakennus muistuttaa kirkon tornia ja vesikatto on pyramidin muotoinen. Huipulla on risti.
- Valottomat pookit eli tunnusmajakat oli tarkoitettu päivämerenkulun kiintopisteiksi. Ne olivat purjelaivakauden tärkeimpiä merimerkkejä, joita pystytettiin mm. kaupunkeihin johtavien väylien tunnuksiksi.
Tasku oli alun perin kalastajien tukikohta. Käsintehdyt veneiden laskeutumispaikat näkyvät edelleen keskellä saarta.Taskussa on myös vanha Kalastajainseuran kalamaja ja uusi taukotupa. Tasku on suosittu retkikohde ympäri vuoden. Talvella kävijöitä on jopa enemmän kuin kesällä. Talvella, mikäli jäätilanne sen sallii, Taskuun tehdään hiihtolatuja museonrannasta ja Thompsoninrannasta. Kesäisin uimaranta saaren etelärannalla on suosittu käyntikohde.
Taskun saari kuuluu Natura 2000 alueeseen. Natura-alueen saarissa ei tule ajaa moottorikelkalla eikä mönkijällä tai muillakaan moottorikäyttöisillä kulkuneuvoilla.

Mene annettuihin koordinaatteihin Taskun saareen uuden taukotuvan ulkopuolelle vasempaan takakulmaan. Kirjoita nimimerkkisi vierailupäivämäärän kanssa paperilapulle, nimikylttiin tai vaikka omaan käteesi. Ota valokuva nollapisteeltä Pookiin päin siten, että kuvassa näkyy edellä mainituilla tiedoilla varustettu lappu, nimikyltti tai vastaava ja kuvan taustalla Kalastajainseuran majan etuseinä sekä kauempana Pookin yläosa. Katso alla oleva esimerkkikuva. Jos näkyvyys saaressa on huono ja taustalla olevaa Pookia ei saa kuvaan näkyviin, niin riittää, että kuva täyttää muilta osin annetut ehdot. Tasku Island is approximately 410 m long and 240 m wide. Tasku’s wooden daymark (Pooki) was built in 1853 along the northern passage to the town of Raahe. The daymark has stayed nearly unchanged at its original site, and it is an essential part of the building heritage of Finland, especially since only 13 wooden daymarks built in the 18th and 19th centuries remain on the shore between Kristinestad and Tornio.

- Altitude 19.2 meters above sea level. Pooki was yellow at first. In 1866, the pooki was fixed and tarred and painted with red soil. In 1877 it was painted yellow again. The current color of the pooki is yellow.
- The building resembles a church tower and the roof is pyramid-shaped. There is a cross at the top.
- The lightless pookis, daymarks, were meant to be fixed points of the day shipping. They were the most important nautical signs of the sailing ship era, erected e.g. as a signs of the shipping lanes to the cities.
Tasku was originally a fishermen’s base. Hand-made landing places for boats can still be seen in the middle of the island. Tasku also has an old fishing lodge and a new resting hut. Tasku is a popular destination around the year. There are even more visitors during the winter than during the summer. In winter, if the ice situation allows it, skiing trails are made to Tasku from the museum shore and Thompsoninranta shore. In summer, the beach on the south shore of the Island is a popular destination.
The Island of Tasku is a Natura 2000 site. On the Islands of the Natura area, do not drive a snowmobile or ATV (all-terrain vehicle) or any other motorized vehicle.
Task
Go to the given coordinates on the island of Tasku outside the new resting hut back left corner. Write your nickname with the date of the visit on a piece of paper, on a name tag or even in your own hand. Take a photo from the zero point towards Pooki so that the image shows a tag, nameplate or similar with the above information and the front wall of the Fishermen's lodge in the background and the top of the Pooki further away. See the example image below. If the visibility on the Island is poor and the underlying Pooki is not visible in the background, it is sufficient that the image meets the conditions given in other respects. Attach the photo to your log.
