This virtual cache takes you to a wonderful corner of Kosciuszko National Park. Please note that the shortest way to this cache is a 32km return trip from Guthega Dam. You should also be aware that the weather conditions in this area can be unpredictable, so please prepare accordingly. I would not recommend this cache during winter, unless you are an experienced back country skier.
This hut was first built in 1955 by the Snowy Mountains Authority as a camp for hydrologists monitoring stream flows in the area. A very detailed history of this hut can be found here. I recommend it as a good bit of background reading!
In order to log this cache, you will need to take a photo in front of the hut, making a heart (feel free to get creative). My friends and I are showing off some good examples below (the hut is usually more red than this).
