Geocache Description:

Idle hands may be the devil's work. Unbridled minds you see are so much worse
Too much pity spent and wasting time. Irresponsibility not my only crime
Obsessive thinking, depressed drinking. The person I once was, he's dead
Exhume the past this time or be my last. This is my final quest to remove my mask
Don't be afraid as she pulled down the shade.
Said there's nothing to fear but the monster is here
So just tell me the time, be it quarter of nine.
Since the sun's gone away, now the creature will play
Ice blue eyes follow me everywhere I go. Making my heart appear as lead
I hate to wish it but I'll tell you though. That I'm quite ready 'cause I'm already dead

Prospect Park is a 526 acre park with a zoo, band shell, carousel and more. It also features a nearly mile long stretch of unbroken meadow, called Long Meadow. In this meadow, is an oak tree known as Peter's Tree. The tree stands out from most others as fans come and leave items in memory of Peter, mostly green and black, the colors the band used.

Peter 'Steele' Ratajczyk was a 6-foot-7 goth giant who fronted the doom metal band "Type O Negative" as their lead singer/bassist from 1989 till his death. Known for dark sound, with lyrics focusing on romance, depression and death, the band was known as "the drab four" in homage to the Beatles fab four. The band released 7 studio albums, but broke up after Peter's death on April 14, 2010 at the age of 48, from heart failure.

Before music, Peter was an employee/heavy equipment operator for the New York Department of Parks and then manager of Brooklyn Heights Promenade Park. He ended up quitting in 1994, when TON had to tour for an entire summer and he could not take off. Peter earned the nickname "The Green Man" from his green jumpsuit that he wore at work. Even after he left the park system, the color green was used in all aspects of his life. All Type O Negatives stage sets, lighting, logos, etc featured shades of green, as well as his basses and hardware. The song "Green Man" from October Rust is about his work in the park.

At the time of his death, Peter's fans were seeking out his burial site, but it was undisclosed. His fans took it upon their selves to raise the money to have a tree planted for him. It became a place to remember him, to celebrate life, instead of mourning his death. Later on, a bench was placed close by with a dedication plaque reading “In Memory of the Green Man Peter ‘Steele’ Ratajczyk 1962-2010.” The decision to place it in Prospect Park was in part due to his work in the park system and because the music video for "Love You To Death" was filmed here.
