Współrzędne wskazują na Mostek Pokutnic - to kładka łącząca wieże katedry św. Marii Magdaleny we Wrocławiu. Znajduje się na wysokości 45 m. To jeden z najciekawszych punktów widokowych we Wrocławiu. Aby wejść na kładkę, trzeba pokonać 247 schodów. W kościele św. Marii Magdaleny nie ma windy.
Wejście na mostek jest płatne (bilet kosztuje 15 zł), a otwarty jest w godzinach 10.00 - 19.00.

Dawno, dawno temu we Wrocławiu żyła pewna piękna, ale próżna i leniwa dziewczyna. Miała na imię Tekla. Leniwa była, że strach – żadnej roboty się nie chwyciła. Stroiła się jeno, liczko w lustereczku przeglądała, a chłopcom w głowach zawracała, choć o zamążpójściu nie myślała.
– Na cóż mi mąż? – mówiła ze śmiechem. – Żebym robotę jeno miała? A co to, ja bawić się nie mam prawa?
– Co z niej wyrośnie? – wzdychał ojciec.
– Teklo, czas za mąż pójść. – załamywała ręce matka. Tekla wszystko śmiechem zbywała.
Mijały lata, a Tekla się nie zmieniała – jeno zabawa i zbytki jej w głowie, piękne suknie i bale, ot co. Choć najmłodsza już nie była, męża nadal nie chciała. W domu pożytku żadnego z niej nie było, kiedy mama o pomoc prosiła – Tekla nigdy nie słuchała, prośby ojca mimo uszu puszczała spiesząc na kolejną zabawę lub nową suknię przymierzając.
Kiedyś rozsierdzony ojciec przeklął Teklę za jej lekkomyślność, próżność i lenistwo.
Tej samej nocy Tekla została porwana i na mostku między wieżami wysoko osadzona – za karę za próżniactwo miała go co dzień do końca świata zamiatać.
Nie pomogły Tekli łzy, prośby, ani krzyki – wysoko pod chmurami nikt jej nie słyszał.
Mijały lata. Tekla postarzała się, zbrzydła, a usmarowana twarz nie ukazywała dawnej urody.
Kiedy już nie miała siły mostku zamiatać dostała do pomocy młodą czarownicę – Martynkę. Martynka, choć czarownica, dobre serce miała, Tekli pomóc chciała. Długo musiała wypytywać, za jakie winy Tekla na taki los została skazana. Los nieszczęsnej Tekli bardzo ją przejął.
Pewnej nocy Martynka po cichu zabrała miotłę Tekli i poleciała na wrocławski Rynek pomocy szukać. Leciala, leciała, nagle zobaczyła tajemniczego mężczyznę na czworaka chodzącego po rynku. Obniżyła lot i wylądowała na Rynku. Przyglądała się mu z ciekawością.
– Pomogłabyś, zamiast się gapić. -burknął nieznajomy.
– Chętnie pomogę, ale czego Pan szuka? Zapytała uprzejmie Martynka.
Okazało się, że to czarodziej Michał – okulary zgubił, różdżka mu wypadła – bez niej nie miał mocy. Zły był i bezradny.
Martynka poderwała się na miotle – wnet różdżkę zobaczyła, podała Michałowi. W nagrodę czarodziej obiecał spełnić jedno jej życzenie. Martynka poprosiła o uwolnienie Tekli. Wdzięczny Michał życzenie dobrej czarownicy spełnił.
Nim Martynka na mostek wróciła, Tekli już na nim nie było. Martynka również do szkoły czarownic wróciła. A mostek pozostał jako przestroga dla leniwych panien. Jak będziecie we Wrocławiu możecie go zobaczyć.

Na zdjęciu muszą być widoczne figurki czarownic. Logi niespełniające tego warunku będą usuwane bez uprzedzenia.

The coordinates indicate The Penitent Bridge - this is a footbridge connecting the towers of St. Maria Magdalena Cathedral in Wrocław. It is located at an altitude of 45 m. It is one of the most interesting vantage points in Wrocław. To get to the footbridge, you have to climb 247 stairs. There is no elevator In the church of St. Maria Magdalena.
Entrance to the bridge is payable (the ticket costs PLN 15), and it is open from 10.00 to 19.00.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful but vain girl. Her name was Tekla and she lived in Wroclaw. Such a lazy young girl she was there was nothing she would do. All days was she only dressing up and gazing into her reflection in a mirror. Boys’ eyes were wandering after her whenever she passed, but she was not looking for marriage.
„Why would I need a husband?” – she was saying laughing – „Me, working? Don’t I deserve to have fun?”
„Will she ever grow up?” – her father wondered.
„It is time to get married Tekla” – her mother sniveled.
And Tekla only laughed them out.
Years passed and she did not change a bit – she only cared about amusements, beautiful dresses and balls. Though she was not getting younger she still did not want a man in her life. She was no help at home either. When her mother asked, Tekla remained deaf to all pleas, just the same as when her father tried to talk to her. Always was she hurrying to another party or trying on a new dress.
One day, while being … angry, her father cursed Tekla for her recklessness, vanity and laziness. Just the next night, she was kidnapped and placed on the bridge between two high towers which she was meant to sweep until the end of all time as a punishment for being so vain.
Nothing helped, neither Tekla’s tears nor her pleas or screams. Nobody could hear her high above the clouds.
Years passed. Tekla became old and ugly, and her dirt covered face did not present former beauty. When she no longer had any strength to sweep the bridge she was given the help of a young witch Martynka. Despite being a witch, Martynka was of a very good heart and she wanted to help Tekla. She asked for a long time before she told her what was the origin of Tekla’s punishment. She was really concerned with her fate.
One night Martynka has secretly taken Tekla’s broom and flown to Wroclaw’s Market Square looking for help. While she was flying she saw a mysterious man crouching on the pavement. She lowered her flight, landed and curiously observed the man.
„You could help instead of staring, you know?” – the man grunted.
„I would gladly do that but what are you looking for, sir?” – she kindly replied.
It turned out that the man is Michał the wizard. He has lost his glasses and his wand. Without the last item he had no power. He was helpless and angry.
Martynka jumped on the broom and quickly spotted the wand from the air. She handed it to Michał. As a reward the wizard granted her one wish. Martynka asked for releasing Tekla. Grateful Michał fulfilled kind witch’s wish.
Before she came back to the bridge, Tekla was already gone. Martynka came back to school of witchcraft and the bridge remained as a reminder to all lazy young ladies.
