Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass die Region Guttland einige prachtvolle und bemerkenswerte Schlösser zu bieten hat. Ein besonderes Highlight ist das Tal der sieben Schlösser, das sich über 24 Kilometer erstreckt und die Schlösser Mersch, Schoenfels, Koerich, die beiden Schlösser von Ansemburg sowie die Burgen Hollenfels und Septfontaines umfasst. Jährlich werden manche Schlösser auch durch traditionelle Feste wieder zu neuem Leben erweckt. Da viele der Schlösser besichtigt werden können, bietet sich Ihnen die Möglichkeit einen Sprung in die Vergangenheit zu wagen. Entdecken Sie die Schlösser der Region und begeben Sie sich auf eine Zeitreise in das Mittelalter.
Es besteht die Möglichkeit das Tal der sieben Schlösser auf einer 27km langen Fahrt zu erkunden. Diese beginnt beim Schloss in Mersch und endet beim Schloss in Koerich. Natürlich kann auch jedes Schloss und jedes Burg einzeln angefahren werden.

Die Schlösser Mersch, Schoenfels, das neue Schloss Ansemburg, Burg Hollenfels und Schloss Koerich können frei zugänglich erkundet werden. Das alte Schloss Ansemburg und die Burg Simmern befinden sich jedoch in Privatbesitz und können leider nicht besucht werden.
Es besteht außerdem die Möglichkeit das Tal der 7 Schlösser durch einen nationalen Wanderweg zu erkunden.

Rundfahrt Tal der Sieben Schlösser - 27 km
Tausend Jahre Luxemburger Geschichte auf eigene Faust entdecken: Eine Reise durch das Tal der Sieben Schlösser macht‘s möglich. Nirgendwo sonst findet der Besucher eine derart hohe Dichte
an mittelalterlichen Bauten, wie im Guttland. Neben einzelnen Burgen in Useldingen und Pettingen, lassen sich insbesondere die Bauten im Tal der Sieben Schlösser praktisch mit dem Auto erkunden.
Möglicher Ausgangspunkt der neuen PKW-Route ist Mersch, wo sich Besucher auch mit Proviant für die Strecke eindecken können. Die heutige Kantonshauptstadt am Zusammenschluss von Alzette, Eisch und Mamer war bereits zu gallo-römischer Zeit stark besiedelt. Mit dem Kauf der Siedlung im Jahre 1232 durch Theoderich I. wurden dann auch die Burganlagen ausgebaut, die das Stadtbild bis heute prägen. Das Schloss aus dem 13. Jahrhundert ist inzwischen Sitz der Gemeindeverwaltung, die neu restaurierte Kapelle beherbergt ein kleines, aber feines Schlossmuseum mit einer Informationsborne.
Von Mersch aus geht es über 25 Kilometer durch idyllische Wälder und pittoreske Ortschaften nach Koerich (oder umgekehrt) zur frisch sanierten Tiefenburg aus dem 12. Jahrhundert. Dazwischen
können sich entdeckungsfreudige Besucher ausreichend Zeit nehmen, die fünf weiteren Schlösser nach Lust und Laune zu entdecken. Wie etwa den Bergfried von Burg Schoenfels aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und dessen englische Gartenanlage, die Burg Hollenfels aus dem 11. Jahrhundert oder die historischen Gärten von Schloss Ansemburg, dessen Ursprünge auf das 17. Jahrhundert
zurückgehen. In Privatbesitz befinden sich indessen das alte Schloss Ansemburg und das Schloss Simmer, beide aus dem 12. Jahrhundert. Besichtigungen sind nicht möglich, allerdings erlauben strategisch platzierte Aussichtspunkte einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die malerischen Bauten.

Ce n'est un secret pour personne que la région du Guttland recèle de magnifiques et remarquables châteaux. Un point culminant particulier est la vallée des sept châteaux, qui s'étend sur 24 kilomètres et comprend les châteaux de Mersch, Schoenfels, Koerich, les deux châteaux d'Ansemburg et les châteaux de Hollenfels et Septfontaines. Chaque année, certains châteaux reprennent vie grâce aux fêtes traditionnelles. Étant donné que de nombreux châteaux peuvent être visités, vous avez la possibilité de faire un saut dans le passé. Découvrez les châteaux de la région et embarquez pour un voyage dans le temps jusqu'au Moyen-Âge.
Il est possible d'explorer la Vallée des Sept Châteaux sur un trajet de 27 km. Cela commence au château de Mersch et se termine au château de Koerich. Bien entendu, chaque palais et château peut également être abordé individuellement.

Les châteaux de Mersch, Schoenfels, le nouveau château d'Ansemburg, le château de Hollenfels et le château de Koerich peuvent être explorés librement. Cependant, l'ancien château d'Ansemburg et le château de Simmern sont des propriétés privées et ne peuvent malheureusement pas être visités.
Il y a aussi la possibilité d'explorer la vallée des 7 châteaux à travers un sentier de randonnée national.

Circuit Vallée des Sept Châteaux - 27 km
Explorer mille ans d’histoire du Luxembourg en une journée : c’est possible en parcourant la Vallée des Sept Châteaux. Un concentré d’architecture médiévale comme au Guttland ne se trouve que rarement en Europe. Outre les châteaux d’Useldange et de Pettingen, situés un peu à l’écart, la voiture est le moyen de locomotion le plus approprié pour découvrir ceux qui s’égrènent au long de la Vallée des Sept Châteaux. Pour emprunter le nouvel itinéraire panoramique, un excellent point de départ est Mersch, où le visiteur peut également se munir de provisions pour la route. L’actuel chef-lieu de canton, au confluent de l’Alzette, de l’Eisch et de la Mamer, connaissait une population importante dès l’époque gallo-romaine. Après l’achat de cette terre par Théodoric Ier en 1232, on construisit le donjon et les fortifications qui marquent l’espace urbain jusqu’aujourd’hui. Le château du 13ème siècle est actuellement occupé par l’administration communale ; la chapelle restaurée héberge un musée muni d’une borne d’information.
À partir de Mersch, un trajet de 25 kilomètres à travers des forêts idylliques et le long de villages pittoresques vous mènera à Koerich et son château de plaine du 12ème siècle, récemment rénové. Entre ces deux points extrêmes, le visiteur curieux pourra prendre tout le temps voulu pour découvrir à son gré les cinq autres châteaux de la vallée : le château de Schoenfels du 13ème siècle, son donjon et son jardin à l’anglaise, le château de Hollenfels, datant du 11ème siècle, ou encore le jardin historique du Grand château d’Ansembourg, dont les origines remontent au 17ème siècle. Le Vieux château d’Ansembourg et le château de Septfontaines, datant tous deux du 12ème siècle, sont des propriétés privées. S’il est impossible de les visiter, des points de vue aménagés dans des lieux stratégiques permettent cependant d’observer ces monuments selon des perspectives à couper le souffle. Nous venons de suivre cet itinéraire des châteaux en partant de Mersch et en allant à Koerich. Bien sûr, vous pourrez aussi le parcourir en sens inverse, au départ de Koerich !

It's no secret that the Guttland region boasts some magnificent and remarkable castles. A special highlight is the valley of the seven castles, which stretches over 24 kilometers and includes the castles of Mersch, Schoenfels, Koerich, the two castles of Ansemburg and the castles of Hollenfels and Septfontaines. Every year, some castles are brought back to life through traditional festivals. Since many of the castles can be visited, you have the opportunity to take a leap into the past. Discover the region's castles and embark on a journey back in time to the Middle Ages.
It is possible to explore the Valley of the Seven Castles on a 27km long drive. This starts at the castle in Mersch and ends at the castle in Koerich. Of course, each palace and castle can also be approached individually.

The castles of Mersch, Schoenfels, the new Ansemburg Castle, Hollenfels Castle and Koerich Castle can be explored freely. However, the old Ansemburg Castle and Simmern Castle are privately owned and unfortunately cannot be visited.

Valley of the Seven Castles Tour - 27 km
Exploring a thousand years of Luxembourg‘s history at one go: A ride through the Valley of Seven Castles enables visitors to experience Guttland, a region of the Grand-Duchy with one of the highest densities of medieval architecture in Europe, through a different lens. A new scenic drive combines all of seven manors in one journey, starting in Koerich or in Mersch. As a regional hub, the latter offers a wide variety of provisions for the day, so don‘t forget to stock up on food and drinks for a nice picnic along the route. The first human settlements in the region can be traced back to the Gallo-Roman period. But it wasn‘t until Theodoric I. purchased the town in 1232, that the first fortifications began to take shape. Those efforts resulted in the picturesque castle complex which has been dominating the cityscape up to our days. Today, the 13th century manor houses the town hall, whereas the renovated chapel has become the new home of both the castle museum and an information booth.
Spanning over 25 kilometers, the scenic drive links Mersch to Koerich with its newly renovated 12th century castle. En route you‘ll experience idyllic woods and quaint little villages driving from one castle to the next. Take your time to explore the sights on your own pace, as for instance the 13th century keep of Castle Schoenfels with its English gardens, Castle Hollenfels with its 11th century
origins or the historic gardens of Manor Ansembourg, which dates back to the 17th century. The old Castle Ansembourg and Castle Septfontaines are both privately owned and cannot be visited. Strategically placed lookouts all but make up for this by offering breath taking views from both castles.

Müsst Ihr mindestens 3 der 7 Schlösser oder Burgen im Tal der sieben Schlösser besuchen und jeweils ein Foto (also insgesamt mindestens 3) von euch oder einem klar erkennbaren Gegenstand UND eurem Geocachernamen dem Logeintrag beifügen.
Die Fotos können am Eingang, im Garten, im Schloss, drum herum, etc. aufgenommen werden. Es muss nur klar zu erkennen sein um welches Schloss oder Burg es sich handelt. Bei den nicht frei zugänglichen Schlössern und Burgen kann ein Foto an den angegebenen Koordinaten aufgenommen werden.
Natürlich könnt ihr auch mehr als 3 oder sogar alle Schlösser und Burgen besuchen, einige sind sehr sehenswert.
Insbesondere das neue Schloss Ansemburg verfügt über einen sehr schönen und gepflegten Garten.

Les photos peuvent être prises à l'entrée, dans le jardin, dans le château, autour de celui-ci, etc. Il doit juste être clairement reconnaissable de quel palais ou château il s'agit. Dans le cas des palais et châteaux qui ne sont pas librement accessibles, une photo peut être prise aux coordonnées spécifiées.
Bien sûr, vous pouvez également visiter plus de 3 ou même tous les palais et châteaux, certains valent vraiment le détour.
En particulier, le nouveau palais d'Ansemburg possède un très beau jardin bien entretenu.
To log the Virtual Reward 3.0:
You have to visit at least 3 of the 7 palaces or castles in the Valley of the Seven Castles and attach a photo (at least 3 in total) of you or a clearly recognizable object AND your geocacher name to the log entry.
The photos can be taken at the entrance, in the garden, in the castle, around it, etc. It just has to be clearly recognizable which palace or castle it is. In the case of the palaces and castles that are not freely accessible, a photo can be taken at the specified coordinates.
Of course you can also visit more than 3 or even all palaces and castles, some are very worth seeing.
In particular, the new Ansemburg Palace has a very beautiful and well-kept garden.
