LT Po Molotovo – Ribentropo pakto pasirašymo 1940 m. vasarą aneksuotos Baltijos valstybės. Sovietai pradėjo organizuoti Lietuvos–Lenkijos pasienio apsaugą: statė užtvarus, pradėtos kurti pasieniečių užkardos visame 104 km ruože. Tačiau prasidėjęs karas su Vokietija darbus nutraukė. 1944 m. pasirašius Sovietų ir Lenkijos sienų sutartį, buvusią Lietuvos ir Lenkijos demarkacijos liniją pakeitė geležinė „aukšta spygliuota viela aptverta siena“ – Lenkijos ir SSRS siena. Lietuvai rengiantis stoti į ES, spygliuotos vielos siena – elektrosignalizacinė sistema – buvo išmontuota. Šiuo metu spygliuotos vielos tvoros maketą gali apžiūrėti turistai, keliaujantys anksčiau paprastiems gyventojams neprieinamu rokadiniu pasieniečių keliu.

However, the outbreak of war with Germany halted work. 1944 After the signing of the Soviet-Polish border treaty, the former demarcation line between Lithuania and Poland was replaced by an iron “high barbed wire wall” - the border between Poland and the USSR. In the run-up to Lithuania's accession to the EU, the barbed wire wall, an electrical alarm system, was dismantled. Currently, the layout of the barbed wire fence can be viewed by tourists traveling on a rocade border road previously inaccessible to ordinary residents.
