Welcome to another RobtH cache in A. C. Hanson Park.
Gubbins Caches
This is the second in what hopefully will be a series of “gubbins” caches. What is a “gubbins cache,” you might ask? Good question.
The word “gubbins,” which sometimes means “fragments” or “scraps,” has been in use since the 16th century. Perhaps more appropriate with specific reference to the Cache Owner, the British sometimes use the word to refer to a foolish or futile person or a simpleton, as in “you silly gubbins.”
Here, however, I use “gubbins” in another British sense as a minor type of gadget. That junk drawer in the kitchen could be “full of gubbins.” Or you could describe your fancy new car with all the bells and whistles as having “all the gubbins.”
In other words, each of my Gubbins Caches is a type of simple gadget cache. None is intended to be excessively difficult, so you might say that even a “silly gubbins” could do them. However, they should give you a bit more to do than simply locate a box in the woods, although I admit to enjoying that as well.
Please be sure to reset the puzzle after you have signed the log. Please let me know if you have any problems with the cache so I can deal with it.
