Ponte Mazzini, chiamato anche "Gianicolense" perché si trova alle pendici del Gianicolo, fu dedicato a una delle figure più famose dell'Unità d'Italia. I lavori iniziarono nel 1904 su progetto degli architetti Viviani e Moretti e proseguirono per quattro anni, terminando nel 1908. Il 21 aprile dello stesso anno il ponte fu inaugurato e aperto al traffico. Il ponte, che collega il quartiere di Trastevere a via della Lungara con il quartiere della Regola a via Giulia, è composto da due pilastri e tre archi ed è lungo 106 metri e largo 17 metri. Ci sono 7 lampioni per ogni lato.
Bernhard era solito attraversare questo ponte ogni giorno tornando a casa dal lavoro. Gli abbiamo dedicato 7 geocache, una per ogni città in cui ha vissuto.
Mio figlio Carlo ha scelto questo posto, dice che suo padre gli ha parlato di questo ponte di recente.
Bernhard, @cygeuner, era un grande giocatore di geocache, soprattutto da quando sono nati i nostri tre figli.

Ponte Mazzini, also called "Gianicolense" because it is located on the slopes of the Janiculum Hill, was dedicated to one of the most famous figures of the Italian Unification. Bernhard used to cross this bridge every day on his way home from work. We have dedicated 7 geocaches to him, one for each city he lived in.
My son Carlo chose this place, he says his dad told him about this bridge recently.
