Many thanks to the Georgia Geocaching Puzzling Society for organizing an event on ciphers as it helped inspire this puzzle.
Once upon a time, we only know it was April, four Kings and a jester came together in a tavern The Kings each sat on one of the four sides of the square table, while ordering the April's fool, the jester, around. They drank lavishly and told many stories. History fortunately managed to keep some records of the scene.
King David: "Do you know the story about the quick brown fox preying on the very lazy dog? It was amazing".
King Charles was bored and said: "Yes, we know that story, it is your favorite but it is nothing compared to the large fawn I saw one day. It had snuck quietly in a zinc box."
King Alexander, clearly drunk: "Let me tell how this King plays amazing vibes chords to excite his wife, the queen."
King Caesar got annoyed: "I am ready to get out of here and I am packing my boxes with five dozen of those yummy liquid bottles."
At that moment, the Jester came in and put a large scroll on the table. The Kings took a look but had no idea what it said. That is when the meeting ended. The Kings didn't agree on much, but they were all sure that the (J)ester should have been excluded on this trip and that there shouldn't be any duplicates.
Below is an artist's impression of the scene.
