Thean Hou Temple is one of the most beautiful Chinese temple in Malaysia, This syncretic temple with elements of Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism is a grandiose structure and represents a successful combination of modern architectural techniques and authentic traditional design featuring imposing pillars, spectacular roofs, ornate carvings and intricate embellishments. Its grand architecture has made it as one of the tourist destination. The front entrance of the temple features a multi-arched gateway with red pillars, the colour symbolic of prosperity and good fortune. Souvenir stalls and a canteen are found on the first level. The second-level houses the multi-purpose hall while offices are located on the third level. The fourth level has three tiers and the prayer hall is located here.
Come Chinese New Year, this place is lighted up for 15 nights on a hilltop, which can be seen a distance away. Wedding couples love to come here for its beautiful background of the temple day & night subject with permission of the temple management. It is also a place of worship for many monks as well as congregration meet with locals or internationals as well.
Best time to visit is in the morning, very less people esp tourists, entrance is free & you can come & enjoy the scenic scenery as much as you want & at the same time, can do your own prayers if you wish to.
