Geocache Description:

A very long time ago, when Clacton-on-Sea looked very much different than it does today, many strange things happened. These have become folklore in the many drinking dens that can be found locally, and have been passed down the generations from father to grandfather and so on.

Several hundred years ago there was a giant squid hereabouts, much larger than a whale and very bad tempered. No-one knows how it got to be so large, but there are rumours that there was a nucular power station on the coast somewhere near here at about that time. (Though no archeological evidence for this has ever been uncovered).

This squid terrorised the local fishermen, sinking their boats and devouring them whole. At this time there just happened to be a local gang of pirates, on board the pirate ship the Black Pig, lead by a ruthless villain, Black Patch. They happened to be very fond of Calamari for their dinner, and so in the interests of their tummies and not in order to save the fishermen, they sailed the Black Pig to this very bay, cornering the giant squid between the fish tail rock formations. They killed it with a very well aimed cannon ball, fried it, and ate it for thier supper.

At the given co-ordinates you should find a number for the Fish Tail Groyne, (They all have thier own number) on a rectangular metal plaque screwed to the promenade, close to the edge, opposite the red Christiansen Bay/Connaught Bay sign, very near to where this bizarre story took place, showing two letters, which are FT and two numbers, say A & B

The cache can be found a short walk away at N 51 48.(A+A)(B)(A+A+A+A)  E001 12.(A+A+A)(B)(B-A-A)
