"A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood..."
Welcome to our small series of caches for children (or the child in you!). Follow the brown mouse on his journey through the wood, meeting various characters as you go. Based on the ever popular Julia Donaldson story The Gruffalo.
"Meet Mouse. He may seem small and insignificant but you will soon discover he is quick thinking and much cleverer than he is given credit for! Join him on his woodland walk and discover how he is able to talk himself out of being eaten! Collect a Gruffalo sticker card and find the animal stickers as you go! "
* We hope to keep the sticker cards and stickers topped up but would appreciate a heads up should they be running low, or if a large group of children are planning to do the route. We'd hate anyone to miss out! Please take your rubbish home with you.
We decided to create this series in honour of our mini cachers who loves helping us to “find the treasures”. We hope you enjoy it as much as they do.

Allerthorpe Wood is a lovely small pine wood, home to many species of birds, insects and if you're lucky - deer. It is very flat with many accessible paths. There are several parking areas, a larger one being near the start of this trail. Occasionally the coffee van will make an appearance. You may spot horses on the bridleway as you make your way round the trail.
