Geocache Description:

14 May 2022, 08:30 - 09:00

Northbrook Mountain remote bush camp sits high on a picturesque ridge in wet sclerophyll forest, overlooking Kipper Creek.

To get to Northbrook Mountain remote bush camp, hike or mountain bike along Lawton Road, then turn right onto England Creek Road and follow it to the bush camp. The total distance is about 5.4 km along steep trails. Should you wish to join the CO in walking to the event location, then plan on meeting at 07:00 hr at the parking waypoint.

Northbrook Mountain remote bush camp is a great location to have a rest, brew a cup of coffee/tea, and have a conversation on geocaching gossip.

Where: Northbrook Mountain remote bush camp, D'Aguilar National Park
When: 08:30 - 09:00 hr, Saturday 14/05/2022.
[Note: The CO will be present at the event location for the scheduled event duration.]

Northbrook Mountain summit is a short 15 min walk nearby, which provides extensive views looking south across the England Creek catchments and is covered in mountain heath, where wildflowers bloom between winter and spring.

This is a challenging hike due to the steepness of many sections. You need a certain amount of fitness to negotiate all the challenges of the trail.

To Bring:

This is not an exhaustive list, but the following should be considered:

  • sock protectors or gaiters;
  • Water, 3.0 litres (or more if it's a hot day);
