Geocache Description:

TRAIL INFO

The Eden-Green Circular is a 6 mile, 13 cache circular trail starting and ending at Skinner’s lane, just off of Four Elms Road in Edenbridge. The trail travels from Skinner’s Farm to Prettyman’s Lane, then to Whistler’s Farm, How Green Farm, Lydens Lane, Delaware Farm, and then back to Skinner’s Farm. Please park on the layby just before Skinner’s lane (opposite Spital’s Cross Estate), and not in the lane itself, as it is a residential lane and active farm.

The trail has one regular cache (#7) which is available for swaps. There are also 3 very small tupperwares which could be used for smaller swaps. A few of the caches contain pencils or pens and a map of the trail.

BE AWARE

If you have a dog or small children, please be aware that the trail follows the following:

  • Fields full of deer

  • Fields full of cows

  • A small stretch along Hever Road of around 100m

  • Muddy paths

  • Railway bridges and crossings (Do not need to cross the railway crossing at Prettyman’s Lane, but the crossing at cache #10 can be avoided by going under the railway tunnel in the same field)

DETAILED DIRECTIONS

  1. Enter the small field left of Skylark Vets and walk straight through to find cache #1

  2. Keep walking straight on, when the path opens into a field, keep in the field on the right

  3. Walk up into the next field to meet with the railway crossing to find cache #2, turn right down the dirt road (Prettyman’s Lane)

  4. Continue down the lane and exit into the field on the right at the newly made gravel slope

  5. Follow the boundary of this field and cross through the gate to find cache #3

  6. Follow any path diagonally down the field to find cache #4 (can be very muddy in winter so the paths change)

  7. Turn into the farm road, but take the first footpath on the right

  8. Walk up and past Whistler’s Farm house on your left until you can turn right and walk straight through the field until metal gate in a wooded area

  9. Walk straight through the fields (sometimes contain deer and stags) to find cache #5

  10. Turn right down the dirt lane, and then right again, following where it naturally turns, finding cache #6, do not enter any fields

  11. Still following the dirt/ forested path, turn left and continue down to find cache #7

  12. Continue down until you meet with Hever Road, walk right down the road until you meet Lydens Lane on the left to find cache #8

  13. Go down Lydens Lane, turning right at the fork where the bridge is visible, to find cache #9

  14. Follow down the lane until you see a tree trunk blocking a field entrance/ footpath on the right, go into that field

  15. Head through the field towards the railway. You will first see a tunnel, head through this if you don’t want to go over the railway crossing (has a few stairs and might not be ideal for dogs or children). If not, keep going parallel to the railway until you reach the crossing to find cache #10 (the cache is on the latter side of the crossing so is easily accessible if you went through the tunnel)

  16. The field you will enter sometimes contains cows, so be careful if with dogs. Cross this field until you reach the path with a fence going to the right

  17. Cross the road into Delaware Farm, walk straight through on the road and cross the bridge, entering another field to find cache #11

  18. Follow the path up the field and diagonal to find cache #12

  19. Walk straight downhill and across another few fields to find the last cache, then just turn to the right and walk back to Skinner’s Lane, which is visible from cache #13
