This trail (Kai Kung Shan 雞公山) (374m) start from Fung Kat Heung to Fan Kam Road (River Beas). It crosses (Lo Tin Teng 羅天頂) (585m) along the ridge, the downhill section with a steep and rugged approach even the trail is covered in loose gravel, making it difficult to descend. There are signs at the Lam Tsuen country park side of the ridge that warn hikers of the steep inclines and the treacherous climb ahead. So, be mentally prepared this is not an easy hike.
On a clear day, the magnificent views from its ridge can see Shenzhen, but also Tai Mo Shan, Tai To Yan, Sheung Shui, Pat Sing Leng, and even as far as Castle Peak are beautiful.
Please do not attempt to hike Kai Kung Leng on a rainning or extremely hot day . There is no gazebo or shade on the trail and the sun can be brutal. Please carry sufficient water and sun protection, and wear proper hiking shoes and attire.
