Geocache Description:

A visit to the posted coordinates of this cache will bring you to a lovely park in the Town of Carleton Place, very close to the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. The town has a lot of history, that which was built partially due to its proximity to the river and surrounding land that was developed over the years into farmland.

You will need to take note of the names on the plaque on this unusual headstone situated in an unusual spot.

The Willis family was one of the first to settle in the area in 1821.  To think that was just over two centuries ago!

In order to find the cache, a little more research must be done above and beyond simply reading the information at the posted coordinates.  (If you have a mobile device with a data plan, the research will be at hand.  Otherwise, moving to a location with wifi access will help you immensely.)

The result of the research and a little bit of math will reward you with the "Restin'" spot of the cache container.

To calculate the final north coordinates, find out what year George (Sr) was born. Take the digit sum of the year and SUBTRACT 8 from this number, then SUBTRACT that number from the North posted.

To calculate the final west coordinates, calculate the alpha sum of Jane Willis' maiden name (one word). SUBTRACT 31 from that number. ADD the result to the West posted.

Good luck, and hope you learned  a little bit more about the early settlers of this town.
