Kevvie, growing up:

I was called 'joey'. I Was told I looked just like a pink jellybean! I was about two centimetres long, had no fur, and my eyes and ears had a lot of growing to do. I stayed inside my mum’s pouch for the first few months and drank mum's milk. I grew slowly, developing eyes, ears and fur. I sort of remember popping my head outside the pouch - I was about 6 months old – and well, this might sound gross, but then I was fed a special food called 'pap', which is a soft and runny form of Mum’s poop, BUT it gave me special micro-organisms so I could eat gum leaves. Now that's OK.

Soon I was riding on Mum’s back, gradually getting used to the diet of gumleaves, although sometimes I snuck into Mum’s pouch to drink milk until I was too big to fit inside.
I think I was about 2 and a half years old when I “left home” to take care of myself. I am now fully grown at four years old.
As a male, I should live to be about 13 years old. If I was a girl, I could probably live longer – maybe up to 18 years.
