************************************************************

This is a photo of my Great-grandfather crossing the river in the 'cradle'

The Doukhobors living in the village of Gilpin across the river used to travel across the river on a cable, they used to call the device, a "Люлька" or "Cradle", another name is "вагон фуникулера" or "_ _ _ _ _     _ _ _"

Translate from Russian to get the code for the cryptex. ☺️
*Make sure you select Russian instead of using the auto detect on google, which will detect Ukrainian, and translate it slightly differently. ☺️

This cache was a join effort between myself and Swope2bc.

"In 2017 I watched the Da Vinci code again and spurred a pipe dream to build a cryptex to use as a geocache.  I plotted the plan in my mind using several fixed layers of PVC and then went for a trip with the family to visit my brother and his family in South West Washington state.  Over a game of cards I laid out my plan and he promptly said, ok let’s do it!  So, the entire next day was spent bonding and building.  From the designing to the shopping.  It truly was a core memory moment.  We worked out the bugs and walked away with a working model.  There was just one problem, with all the heart that went into its construction I couldn’t decide on a worthy code or location to hide it..  Sadly that meant it lay dormant in a closet or on a shelf, coming out only to show friends what I had built with my brother, for 5 whole years!  PurpleStain is one such person I had shown and when she suggested it for the Grand Forks 125 Anniversary series I finally felt it was a worth while time.  I hope you find as much enjoyment finding and solving it as we had building it!   — Swope2bc"

*Please don't smash it or cut it to get in... and the ends don't twist off or anything like that. Just align the dials "straight & accurate", then slide it apart from the end to reveal the contents. The cryptex is really accurate so don't be sloppy in lining up the dials as there is maybe about 1/8" play in either direction.
