I was riding home on my bicycle after hiding the nearby Mines Field Series at LAX and was somehow drawn to this area. Having never stopped here even though I've lived in the area for nine years, something about it really resonated with me and I found myself being overcome with emotion.
Perhaps it's being a father with children?
Perhaps it is knowing another parent's child was lost in Vietnam tying into the Russian invasion of Ukraine today?
Perhaps it's gratitude for the Scouts who earned their Eagle Scout rank coupled with the excitement of my two sons beginning their own journeys in scouting.
Perhaps it is having lost my mom two years ago and that my two dads aren't far behind?
Or, perhaps it is just middle age?
Whatever it may be, I thought it a good place for a cache in a place that had a profound effect on the day I discovered it.
