The world has handled several plagues- locusts, frogs, flies, livestock pestilence, etc...well, this invasion isn't quite of biblical proportions, most people won't even notice.
Geocachers however, will noticed a rise in the Cricket population.
While caching in Texas, I noticed an illusive cache called the cricket. I have a feeling a few stowed away with me, and multiplied feverishly. This is the first wave of what could very well
be hundreds.
Crickets are tricky, and can be easily overlooked. This is the reason for the higher difficulty. Crickets live exclusively on live hosts- trees, bushes, evergreens, etc-
you won't find them on lampskirts, signs or guardrails- even if there is one close by. I will say, after you find the first one, you will know what you are looking for- making it easier. Have fun!!
