The Longleaf Trace was completed as a Rails-to-Trails conservancy project in 2000, erected along a portion of the abandoned line of the Mississippi Central Railroad. It is a part of the Pearl & Leaf Rivers Rails-to-Trails Recreational District, a governing authority and joint venture of the counties of Forrest, Jefferson Davis, and Lamar. Beginning at the gateway in Hattiesburg near The University of Southern Mississippi, the Longleaf Trace traverses through five communities for 44 miles of nature-filled fun and challenge!
This is Carson Station at Mile 37 of the Trace. Park at the Waypoint and enjoy a nice walk to GZ of the Cache. Notice the Equestrian Trailhead and stalls across the road. The cache is 15-20 feet in the woodline. There is enough room for SWAG and small Trackables. BYOP
