Connect NYC with Czechia! (meet & greet)
During the last two years, almost the whole world has experienced life behind computer monitors. We have stayed connected to our loved ones, classmates, and colleagues, often only with the help of cameras and microphones. This time is perhaps over and we can meet outside and travel again! But what about meeting outdoors during online meeting?
While planning my trip to NYC, it occurred to me to hold a short meet & greet event, but made special by trying to connect with geocachers in my home country - Czechia, in the heart of Europe (more than 6500 km / 4000 miles away from NYC).
While searching for a place in NYC with free wifi, I found the LinkNYC project, which runs kiosks with free wifi. So I thought I'd give it a try. At the same time as this event, the GC9TM30 event is taking place in Brno, the second largest city in the Czechia, and we'll try to connect each other, NYC with Brno!
IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS
When: Saturday, May 28 from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm (because the time difference between NYC and Brno is 6 hours)
Where: Times Square near the LinkNYC kiosk
Bring: TB and GC for exchange, good mood
What will we do: we'll meet and make a video call to Europe (I hope that LinkNYC free wifi will work)
Thank you and I look forward to seeing you! :-)
