Geocache Description:

WARNING!!! This is NOT your "typical" guardrail hide!!!! You may want to check the ENTIRE structure and place your hands where you would normally not place your hands. This is NOT a typical "park-n-grab". R-E-A-D the page write-up & the hints/clues. Yes - coordinates are NOT exact. DUH!! There is a reason why the coordinates are not exact (so all you coordinates "experts" hush up). R-E-A-D the page write-up & hints/clues. There is a reason for the D/T ratings!!

While fishing for crappie behind the cemetery of Milford, KS, one early morning in April 2022, noticed that the guardrails to Cemetery Road had been removed. Seeing a pile of new/shiny metal not too far away, figured that the guardrail will be soon replaced. Well, after a few more early morning crappie fishing adventures, decided to place a new geocache in conjunction with the new guardrail. There used to be a cache hidden here but was removed/archived once the new guardrail was put into place.

Fishing for crappie from mid-March to mid-May behind the Milford, KS, cemetery is one of the "hidden secrets" of the local area. Come here anytime of the day during crappie season and you are pretty much guaranteed to go home with quite a few fish.

Anyway, about the cache. Container is roughly fist-sized and coloration blends in with the metal coloring of the new guardrail and has a secondary container inside to help protect the log from the elements. Coordinates will place you CENTER-MASS of the roadway. It is up to you, the wiley geocacher that you think you are, to locate that thing. WARNING: since this geocache is placed very close to US HWY 77, DO NOT search east of the stop sign!!!! For safety purposes search for the cache between the stop sign and western end (end closest to the cemetery) of the guard rail. IF you search east of the stop sign and along the highway it is because you want to. Also, throughout the warm weather months, this access road does become quite busy with people wanting to try their luck at fishing driving to/from the parking area at all hours of the day (thus the justification for the "skull/crossbones" icon so all you "icon experts" have a nice day). Also, if you bring children with you on this search, please be aware of their locations because of the fishing traffic - vehicles do tend to travel a bit faster than probably need to - you have been warned!!

In order to get to this location, travel north/south on US HWY 77 until you come to the intersection with Cemetery Road roughly 1 mile north of the town of Milford, KS. Cemetery Road is a hard-top road. Turn west and pull just past the western end of the guardrail and you should be able to park relatively safely, but be mindful of vehicles entering/exiting the area. Search for the container!!! This may be an easy find for some; and this may be a tougher find for others. Hope visitors enjoy the search for this cache!!
