The East Oasis Cemetery has to be one of my favorite places to visit that caching has taken me over the years.
So many stories. Some sad. Some mysterious. Some puzzling. And then, there’s that thing. You can see It from Hwy 73. It calls you. Well, it calls me at least.
Years ago, there was a cache hidden here that I never found. You can try to find it even though it is archived. The dummy coordinates for this cache are the coordinates for that cache. If you do, you’ll pass past the information you will need to find this cache.
A: Chesley’s final digit birth year divided by Charles’ final digit birth year
B: Joanna’s final digit death year minus her birth decade
C: Chesley’s death decade minus his final digit birth year
D: Charles’ birth decade plus Joanna’s birth decade plus Joanna’s final digit death year (originally read birth)
E: Chesley’s century death minus his decade death
F: Chesley’s final digit death year divided by Joanna’s final digit death year
G: Chesley’s final digit death year minus Joanna’s final digit death year
H: Chesley’s century death minus Joanna’s decade birth (originally read death)
I: the only number all six dates have in common
J: Joanna’s final digit death year squared
The "SQ" in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a project started in Indiana (GCHRFJ) to distinguish caches that are set in cemeteries. The idea has since spread throughout the Midwest and elsewhere, including one of mine in Oregon, the only SQ cache in the state.
Wisconsin cache owners are joining in as of 2007, with the designation WSQ prefixing their cache names. As elsewhere, this is a voluntary effort to help designate and highlight these special areas.

The cache is not located on, or adjacent to, any grave markers or memorials. In fact, it’s not even in the cemetery. Feel free to post pictures of the view at the hide location.
