Welcome to the Mountain Path
When it is fully completed, the Mountain Path will be a 5 km multi-use paved trail system that winds through the neighbourhoods and forests, leading to a host of recreational opportunities. Built with full accessibility in mind, the Mountain Path will open up this one-of-a-kind landscape to all. At present, hiking the full extent of the Mountain Path will cover about 2.1km.
At this stage of the Mountain Path you are faced with a choice. You can opt for taking the right-hand path that passes the parking area and continues up the hill alongside Chippendale Road, or you can take the left-hand path that takes you into the forest where you will find a some brief relief from the hot sun (as I have done more than once!). While the forest route is initally more leisurely it does require you to gain the same elevation as the right-hand route so you will need to take a relatively steep gravel path as you climb out of the forest to reach Chippendale Road once again.
