I started this hobby long ago with my children. I think my first find was so enjoyable because my young children were along for the ride, a find nearby my home that was hidden for some time. Go figure the hider and old high school classmate. As I keep growing and enjoying the hobby I see how my likes and dislikes of the challenge change, this reminds me of my children.
My daughter (now 16) is definitely a person who likes to roam, but of course with her friends and NOT with dad. My guess is she is going to head west once she decides to fly the coop I provided. Being a lover of coffee though, I believe she will enjoy the warmth of the west.
My son (14 now) on the other hand is definitely the healthy eater, wresting finatic, who seems to stay near home for the most part. But when he reaches the time to fly, my guess, he will head north. Of course, not leaving Wisconsin but I think he will enjoy the change of seasons mother nature provides us.
But I truly hope these kids no matter where the end up, enjoy nature and their life. Along with what geocaching has brought me, a smile is all we can look forward to.
So if you can bring the kids home for me you will definitely find yourself a cache as well.
