Geocache Description:

How many of us have visited or passed the many War Memorials that dot the land in villages, towns and our cities and wondered about the men and women whose names are inscribed upon them. The War Memorial in Staple lies in the churchyard at St James Church Staple. Every year for the past 90 years or so, the villagers of Staple had congregated at the church on Remembrance Sunday and the names on the memorial would be read out with reverence and in respectful memory. Generations have come and gone in Staple since the Great War, and indeed even the 2nd World War, and very few people in Staple 2014 still had connections to those names. Sadly In the end, they were becoming just names.

In 2014, the branch wanted villagers to really know the young men who had given their lives in the wars, referred to as “The Lost Sons of Staple”. A Garden of Remembrance was built with a memorial stone and nine smaller stones - for each “Lost Son” - along with nine silver birch trees. Each year a wreath is laid in the garden on Remembrance Day and the garden has become a focal point for the close-knit community.

To solve this multi-cache, go and look at the information boards on one side of the Garden of Remembrance and answer the following questions:
