Ein kleiner Spaziergang von der Fiescheralp führt euch zu diesem Platz. Bis 1972 stand hier das Hotel Jungfrau-Eggishorn.
Was als einfaches Gasthaus mit 30 Betten begann, wurde unter der Führung von Emil Cathrein, der auch die Konkordiahütte errichten liess, zu einem Hotelkomplex ausgebaut, der mit seinen 102 Betten einem Grand-Hotel durchaus ebenbürtig war. Dieses Hotel war Ausgangspunkt für Gletscherbegehungen und Bergtouren oder auch um die eindrücklichen Sehenswürdigkeiten wie dem Eggishorn und den Märjelensee zu besuchen. Und all das selbstverständlich ohne Gondelbahn.
Zum Betrieb gehörten eine ausladende Aussichtsterrasse, ein eigenes Postbüro, ein Kiosk, zwei Kapellen und ein Tennisplatz. Auf einem für damalige Verhältnisse gut ausgebauten Saum- und Reitweg (der heutige Herrenweg) erreichten die Touristen die gastliche Stätte. Ob einfache Gaststätte oder Luxus-Hotel: Jungfrau-Eggishorn erfreute sich während Jahrzehnten grosser Beliebtheit. Mit dem Bau der Seilbahn auf das Eggishorn im Jahre 1968 ging die Pionierzeit des Tourismus zu Ende.
1972 wurde das Hotel unter nie ganz geklärten Umständen ein Raub der Flammen.

A short walk from Fiescheralp takes you to this place. The Hotel Jungfrau-Eggishorn stood here until 1972.
What began as a simple inn with 30 beds was expanded under the leadership of Emil Cathrein, who also had the Konkordiahütte built, into a hotel complex that, with its 102 beds, was definitely on a par with a grand hotel. This hotel was the starting point for glacier tours and mountain tours or to visit the impressive sights such as the Eggishorn and the Märjelensee. And all of this, of course, without a gondola lift.
The business included an expansive viewing terrace, its own post office, a kiosk, two chapels and a tennis court. The tourists reached the hospitable place on a mule and bridle path (today's Herrenweg), which was well developed by the standards of the time. Whether it's a simple restaurant or a luxury hotel: Jungfrau-Eggishorn has enjoyed great popularity for decades. With the construction of the cable car to the Eggishorn in 1968, the pioneering days of tourism came to an end.
In 1972, under circumstances that were never fully clarified, the hotel was engulfed in flames.
