This cache is the "bonus" sixth cache in a series of six new caches on Yacum Hill, following the trail up the power line easement. Completing the entire series will take you on a hike from the parking area to the summit of Yacum Hill (where the bonus cache is located), which is about 1 mile each way with about 500 feet of elevation gain.
To compute the coordinates of this cache, you will need to have computed the coordinates for each of the five multi-caches in this series on Yacum Hill. You will need one digit from the final coordinates of each of those caches, as follows:
The bonus cache is at N 43° 00.ABC W 71° 33.DEE
If you have computed the coordinates correctly, the last three digits of the north coordinates will sum to 20 and the last three digits of the west coordinates will sum to 14. Alternatively, you could use the "solution checker" on the cache page to confirm your calculated coordinates. Go to those coordinates and look for the cache container!
After finding the cache, you'll want to proceed about 50 to 100 feet further to an open area which provides the view of Manchester that is pictured on the cache page.
Be prepared for your adventure:
- Bring your own pen!
- Wear appropriate footwear for the season! The trail under the power lines can be quite muddy or icy at times and involves crossing some small streams. There are also some extremely steep sections.
- There is little shade on sunny days; it would be wise to bring some water to drink.
