This is a combination MNSQ Cache and Tribute Cache to SilverFox94. He had only 30 finds, but he just started caching last summer at the age of 94.
Beau was a veteran and served in the 2nd Infantry Division, 37th Artillery Battalion during WWII. He returned to his small town of Hayfield, MN and never left. He married and raised a family of 4 children. He was a meat cutter in the early days and later a successful entrepreneur. A self-proclaimed “car guy” he bought and sold several hundred used cars during his lifetime.
He retired early and enjoyed many years fishing up at their cabin on Mille Lacs Lake. Beau loved people and they loved him back! He would light up when he had a chance to talk to anyone. He could make friends of complete strangers in a matter of minutes. He was a good listener and a great storyteller.
I was fortunate to have married one of his daughters. So he was my Father-In-law, as well as my caching buddy. A nicer man I have never known. I miss him, but he really did have a wonderful life!
On the back of Beau’s Headstone is a newly installed brass plaque that honors his military service. There is a one-digit number on the second line of the plaque that I will refer to as “A”. On the fourth line of the plaque is the two-digit day that Beau passed away. I will refer it this a BC. Do a little math below to find the final coordinates:
