Born on November 17, 1966, Jeffrey Scott Buckley had music in his blood. The son of two musicians, Jeff was destined to be an artist himself.

He had an angelic voice, and received accolades from many legends from David Bowie to Bob Dylan confirming his unique talent. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Buckley #39 in its list: The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time as well as ranking "Grace" in the top 500 greatest albums of all time. Jeff ’s masterful version of Hallelujah was inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry as a culturally, historically and aesthetically significant recording; perhaps you will make time to give a listen: https://youtu.be/Ob5jAS68p9U
After releasing his first album, Grace, Jeff came to Memphis in 1997 to start recordings for his next album, "Sketches for My Sweetheart The Drunk." One night on a whim, Jeff decided to take a swim in the Wolf River habor in front of you; a passing boat's wake caused him to drown, taking his life away from the world.

Jeff loved Memphis as much as I, and GZ has a wonderful view of our city that I know would make him proud. Like many, he left us too early... a subtle reminder that life is precious. Best of luck on finding my cache, and may Peace be with you.
