On this day in 2012 I was walking this very trail and passed a birdhouse. Something niggled my brain and stopped me in my tracks. I turned back to take a closer look. The opening was blocked off, and when I rested my hand on the roof it fell off! Oh no, I broke the birdhouse! When I bent to pick up the roof I noticed magnets. Well, that's one way to clean out a birdhouse, although no bird could ever go into it. As I placed the roof back on I peeked down inside. Tupperware...what in the world?! Luckily there was a laminated sheet explaining what I had found...my first geocache. As unintentional as it was. And that was it, I was addicted!
Five years later I took the next logical step and adopted my very own geodog, Tia the Terror. I don't even remember life without her. The adventures we've gone on together have been the best times of my life.

Parking is at the main area for the park off of Rt 28 (and just off I88 exit 17), and a few cars can fit near the railroad tracks if you're familiar with the area. Pit toilets are located at the parking area. There are 3 State Parks challenge caches in this park, and it's centrally located if you're working on your Central passport or passing through to the SaraCap region.
