Left Side! Strong Side! Traditional Cache

I really like the movie Remember the Titans about two different football programs joining together to make a championship team. In the beginning, the players have a difficult time forming a cohesive team — and an even harder time forming friendships. But, thanks to the leadership of two influential players, Julius Campbell and Gerry Bertier, the team eventually comes together, forming a close, inseparable bond.

The moment that sparks this bond is at summer training camp. Both the offense and defense are intermixed with players from each original football program; the sides are starting to learn how to play and work together. Towards the end of the scrimmage, the defense makes a great play thanks to Julius Campbell. Gerry Bertier looks at Campbell and screams, “Left side!” Campbell, looking up and realizing his teammate is actually excited for him, yells back “Strong side!” The two go back and forth, screaming and pumping each other up. The bond is formed, and the two are on a mission to bring the team together.

Near the end of the movie, Bertier spends a moment alone Campbell. It’s just before the state championship game, but Bertier is resting in a hospital bed, paralyzed from a recent car accident. It’s almost too much for Campbell to comprehend. Shaken and misty-eyed, the two gently talk about how much progress they’ve made - how, as former rivals, they learned to embrace each other while representing the first integrated high school in Virginia. “When all this is over, you and I are going to move out to the same neighborhood together,” Campbell tells his ailing captain. “We’ll get old, we’re going to get fat, there won’t be all this Black-white between us.” Bertier, crying, raises his arm. “Left side,” he whispers. “Strong side,” Campbell tells him, clasping his hand. It was a power moment.

So why did I just make you read all that? I have no idea. Lemme think… I mean it’s a great movie and all, but... oh wait... that’s right - wood you believe the title has like THREE HINTS in it. Each word is helpful. Well, "left" can be relative to how you're standing, so maybe two and a half hints ... with "strong" meaning it's on there pretty good and you may need to give it some umph and use some muscle like the characters in the movie Remember the Titans. That was a good movie. There's these two kids that say "Left side!" and "Strong side!". Did I ever tell you about that movie?
