Geocache Description:

I have very little information on the Belmont Quarry Co. Siding railway station (yes, that is exactly what it was called). Scoble, my primary source for dates, doesn't mention it, however it was timetabled in 1911 in the newspapers of the day. Luckily that timetable also mentions the distance from other stations, so I know that this station was right here (okay, okay, within 30m of right here, just up the rise, now covered over by the highway). At that time the Hutt Line was a passenger only service so, much like the other industry sidings along this section of track, the goods services were dropped and it was retained as simply convenient drop off point for workmen, in this case for the quarry. There was no station building or shelter shed of any kind, and no platform.

The stop probably survived right up to the closing of the line in 1954, when the rails were pulled out.
