The one-room schoolhouse at Black Moshannon State Park was originally located along the Star Mill Trail. During the early 1920's, it was moved to its present day location, which is near the Camp Store. As in most country schools at the time, one teach taught all eight grades in one room. Students worked by the light of oil lamps, and a wood or coal stove heated the school. The school day was from 9 am to 4 pm. This included a 30 minute break for lunch and two 15 minute recess breaks.
After checking out the schoolhouse, sit down and enjoy a picnic lunch!
