Geocache Description:

While driving back to Mount Vernon after a great day of geocaching in Winnsboro with my son we stopped here to have a quick lunch.  What a cool place, there is a natural spring with a water tap, old stone walls/stairs and several of the original park amenities (picnic table, trashcan).  The signage tells that this was a rest area built by the department of transportation for their employees way back in the 1930's.  Presumably for the employees that were building TX-37.  This is a nearly 100 year old piece of history that nobody sees as they drive by at 70 mph.  Take some time, eat some snacks and enjoy the view into the nature preserve on the other side of the fence.
