This cache is located on the southern portion of the Homestead Trail, the section between Roger's Loop and Dimond Ridge. Park/start at the Roger's Loop trailhead (800'). Generally, you gain elevation all the way to Dimond Ridge (1150'), a 2.25 mile walk each way.
A moderate walk through open forest and grassy slopes with views across meadows and boggy muskeg. A worthy side trail leads to another cache with outstanding views. The wildflowers of June give way to berries and fireweed in August. Early Homesteaders used this trail to access their homesteads long before roads were built. Be cautious of the maze of paths that crisscross the trail, there are many winter ski trails in this area. Sharp eyes will find newly placed trail markers to assist your journey.
