Vito Adamo was an early Detroit Mafia leader. Vito and his brother Salvatore  were  in a feud with the  Giannola family.  Along with this they were hired by local business oweners to protect them against extortion. They were called the white hand society. Both brothers were shotgunned to death on Mullett St by a mysterious team only known as "long and short pair." Both brothers were buried side by side on Thanksgiving Day 1913.
