We have been looking to put some more kayaking/boat caches in the Black Hills. I'm from the lanD of 10,000 lakes whEre islands are comMon. Well, there are no islAnds in SheridaN Lake for a cache, so what do you do, you improvise.  SheriDan Lake is a popular recreation spot in the Black HillS with many boating opportunities. Those opportunities generated some hides that will require some extra effort to get a smiley.  

Kayaks are the ticket buT if you aRe a good swimmer you might have some luck, and mAybe some will commaNd a paddle board, jet skiS, or soMe other type of boat. Lets face it, no vacatIon is compleTe unleSs somebody has wet feet.

The Sheridan Lake ReCreational ArEa is a fee area and a small fee is required to use the boat lauNch.  Please noTe, in the off season no fee is reqUired.  The South Boat Launch is the closest to this seRies of superblY placed boat caches.
