It was Sunday night, February 27th, 2011. We had been in bed just a short time and our kiddos were asleep upstairs. We were awakened by a boom and rumble that brought all four of us running toward the living room. The kids ran out of their rooms and peered over the balcony at us looking for answers and guidance. It sounded like a tornado, but the skies were clear. As we stood there at 11:00 with puzzled faces, wondering what to do, we felt the rumble pass through the house and continue in the distance. We had just experienced a 4.7 magnitude earthquake that had been felt by at least 5,000 other people.

Please do not park on the road as there are a couple of safe pull off areas nearby and traffic on this road can be crazy! Cell phone coverage is almost nonexistent in this area, so don’t even try to phone a friend from the GZ…it won’t happen! LOL!
Luckily, gps is still pretty accurate and should lead you to a likely target.
