This is one of three lighthouses in Fleetwood, thiis one is the upper lighthouse, on the promenade you will find the lower lighthouse (smaller in height). The third, "wyre light" is out at sea but is derelict now, having burnt down twice in the past and the second time it was never restord.
these three lighthouses played a vital role in getting boats safely back to shore, there is a deep channel that has been man made for boats to sail along, in order to do this safely sailors have to line the three lights up in a row and follow the line through. Along with the one at sea being a wreck now, the land lighthouses have also sunk due to most of Fleetwood being built on various soft grounds. These days the boats are much smaller and there are bouys specifically placed to guide sailors.
Nearby you will find a cafe on the promenade, why dont you stop by for some fish and chips, or even a 99 Ice cream, both staples in a seaside town.
Another standard placement for me.
