Geocache Description
The Monroe County Geocaching series aims to connect residents and visitors to natural areas that have been permanently protected with funds from the County Open Space Bond. The West End Regional Park Kids Cache located at the Dave Fleetwood Trail is one of six Regional Kids Caches focused on one of the key principles of geocaching... if you take something leave something.
Adventurous little ones can enjoy the hunt for this "treasure chest" style cache, filled with small tokens, and may select one item to take home. Participants are encouraged to contribute to the chest, leaving behind a token that is 1-2 inches in size for the next kid to find. Please remember: When replacing cache, hide it as you found it so the next person can enjoy the hunt!
Property Info
This property has the size and rolling topography to potentially provide the West End municipalities with multiple activities as well as passive recreational activities. Currently, the north side has a pavilion and the Dave Fleetwood Memorial Trail. The south side, accessible via Merwine Hilltop Rd, includes many existing trails in addition to woodlands, steep slopes, and a stream.
